Sandro Comini was born in Mirandola (MO) Italy and following the suggestion of his father Cherubino Comini, also a musician, started to study the trombone at the age of eleven at the Mirandola school of music . Thanks to the encouragement of his teacher, Maestro Ernesto Valesi, he studied at the
"Arrigo Boito" Conservatory in Parma (Italy), where he graduated in 1980.

In 1982 he went to the United States, entering the "Berklee College of Music" in Boston, where he studied trombone and arranging whith Maestro Phil Willson and John LaPorta. On his return home to Italy after this beautiful experience, Sandro Comini was eagerly sought as "first-call" trombonist for many Italian Big Bands.

As a leader, he formed "THE SAGITTARIUS TRIO" and recorded his first CD of original compositions in 1994: "Manhattan in a bag"produced by the italian label IRMA RECORD .
In 1997 Sandro Comini also completed a course of study in "Jazz Music" at the "G.B.Martini" Conservatory of Bologna (Italy).
